What is Forestry Mulching?

Forestry mulching is an excellent approach to land clearing that provides a wide array of environmental benefits. Mulching not only preserves the soil’s integrity but also helps minimize erosion, due to the protective layer created by the mulched material. Additionally, it promotes the growth of native vegetation by returning valuable nutrients to the soil. Forestry mulching also eliminates the need for burning or hauling away debris, making it an environmentally friendly option. It's a cost-effective and efficient way to clear land while maintaining the health and integrity of the surrounding ecosystem.

Why choose Midwest Land Solutions over clearing the land myself?

When a landowner takes on the task of clearing their land, they may face several challenges. One challenge consists of small stumps that remain after cutting. These stumps can be difficult to remove and may affect future land development plans. By employing the services of Midwest Land Solutions, the land and stumps will be cleared, resulting in an even surface ready for its intended purpose. A further drawback for property owners is the significant time and physical effort needed to clear land by hand. As many property owners are aware, the process of cutting and hauling trees can be strenuous. Our machinery can clear acres of overgrown vegetation in a single day, leaving behind a mulched weed barrier. This means you could save weeks or even months of work by allowing us to complete the job safely and efficiently.

How long does it take to clear an acre of land?

Our equipment allows us to clear approximately one acre of land in as little as three hours. However, this time can vary depending on the vegetation present. We understand that each job is unique, so we prefer to assess the property before providing a quote or time frame. By avoiding hardwoods and larger trees, the landowner can save time and money.

Do invasive species come back after forestry mulching?

Some invasive species tend to return. To minimize regrowth, it's important to apply the appropriate spray treatment at the proper time of year. This helps to control and prevent the resurgence of invasives. In some cases, these areas may require annual spraying. Alternatively, they can be replaced with vegetation such as grass to maintain a desirable and manageable landscape.

Are there any permits or regulations required to start a land clearing project?

There are no specific regulations or permits needed. Our role is to partner with you to plan your project, keeping in mind property boundaries and providing you with a hassle-free experience.

What methods do you use for land clearing?

Midwest Land Solutions utilizes skid steers equipped with forestry mulching attachments. These machines are highly effective in cutting through dense vegetation and converting it into mulch. We employ a grapple attachment that enables us to relocate unnecessary mulch, stumps, or logs with ease. Furthermore, we use drone technology to survey the land, assessing the terrain and vegetation, allowing for a more strategic clearing process.

How much does land clearing typically cost?

The price of a land clearing project can vary based on several factors. These include the size of the land, the terrain, the type of vegetation being cleared, and the extent of mulching desired by the landowner. To provide you with the most accurate estimate, we need to personally assess the project and discuss your specific requirements. Contact us for your free estimate.
